PSY204 Developmental Psychology

In this course we cover human development from conception to death.  If you are interested in our thinking, relationships, and physical abilities develop and change over the lifespan then this course is for you.  This course is required for Nursing majors and is recommended for Psychology majors.  The course is also beneficial for Education and Sociology majors.  Anyone who has taken PSY101 (General Psychology) is welcome to enroll in the course.  You may link to the ERes page (after August 15, 2008) for this course by clicking on the title of the course above.  The site for this course is password protected.

PSY375 Cognitive Psychology

This course focuses on how humans process information.  Covered topics include:  attention, perception, memory, problem solving, creativity, decision making, reasoning, and the categorization of knowledge.  Information on both normal and abnormal functioning of cognition is included.  This course is recommended for psychology majors and is also beneficial for Biology majors, Business majors, Communication Arts majors, Education majors, Philosophy majors, Pre-law majors, and Sociology majors.  The prerequisites for this course are PSY101 (General Psychology) and Junior/Senior standing.  You may link to the ERes page (after August 15, 2008) for this course by clicking on the title of the course above.  The site for this course is password protected.

PSY351 Descriptive Research Methods

This is the first of a two-course sequence that will combine methodology and accompanying statistics.  This course will cover the scientific method, ethics, literature review, and descriptive research techniques such as observation, correlation, surveys, unobtrusive measures of behavior, and qualitative methods.  We will also cover the appropriate statistical tests for each research method.   This course is required for Psychology Majors and is writing intensive. The prerequisite for this class is a grade of C- or better in PSY263 Statistics for the Social Sciences. You must pass with a C- or better before you can enroll in PSY 352 Experimental Research Methods.
