The Mysterious Aunt Janey - Sara Jane Adams.

Miss Sara Jane Adams was an ever present figure in the Holmes-Anshutz-Adams families for much of the 19th century. I place her with the Holmes, simply because her obituary first links her to them. She live with Holmes descendents for most of her life apparently. Her position was honored confidant, trusted "Aunt Janey", but her origins are uncertain. Oldest living members of the family note that this was a topic NOT to be broached, suggesting something scandalous, perhaps? In any case we have numerous letters to and from her from an assortment of family members including at least two civil war soldiers writing home from the battlefield (I plan to post those later).
