Annelida (segmented worms)
Note: A large annelid worm was observed during the night snorkel at West Sumerland Key. It had six tentacles, pair of black crescent shaped mouth parts that became exposed upon feeding.  Short, squat parapodia along body.  Its size was approximately ½ to ¾ of an inch in diameter. It was found in a hole 1 inch in diameter, and exposed about 6 inches of its body when teased with seagrass, which it quickly grabbed and pulled into its burrow.  Prior to teasing the worm with the seagrass observation revealed the worm snatching a fish about ¾ to an inch in length and eating it.
