Quizzes:  Periodic 10 point quizzes will be given roughly once a week.  These are designed to encourage the student to stay current with the material

Hour exams: Two 1-hour exams, each worth 100 points.  These will consist of objective and subjective questions.

Final Exam: The final exam will consist of two parts, one part (100 points) comprehensive and the other (100 points) will cover material since the last full period examination.

Class Discussion: Approximately once a week, we will have in-class discussions of current behavioral research.  It is expected that all students will have read the relevant text chapter and all of the papers assigned.  Students are also to be prepared to discuss these papers in class and contribute to the discussion.  Once during the semester, students will be expected to lead a discussion on one of the topics.  You are expected to have read the papers and will prepare a short introduction summarizing the papers and posing questions for discussion.  This will be turned in after class.  During the discussion period, discussion leaders are expected to facilitate class discussions

Term Paper: A term paper will be required of all students.  Term papers should follow the format outlined on the following pages.  Topics for term papers will be discussed in the first class.  All term papers must be turned in no later than the assigned date, Friday, 27 November, 2006.  Papers turned in after the due date will have 10 points per day deducted from them.  An unacceptable term paper will be returned to the student for a rewrite.  The maximum grade on a rewrite will be a C.
